Wherever you go your hunting will be way more enjoyable and much more efficient.
I started out with no pinpointer then got a really cheap one from harbor freight tools that I modified and made better. Then I broke down and got an XPointer. I won't hunt without it now. I would even go back to the HF pinpointer if my XPointer broke and I had to wait a few days for a new one.
Once you start using a PP you'll wonder why you ever hunted without one. To me it's almost as necessary as a detector.
