Pinpointers which is better

I agree with others here the X-pointer has more bang for the buck. I have owned one since they first came out and have had no problems with mine.

I finally gave up on my Garrett , after they wanted about $90 to fix it ! It is 3 months out of warranty. Bought an X Pointer , & am very happy with it. It took a beating the other day in the rain & mud . I threw the Garrett in my garbage can.

How about a new TRX for less than a hundred dollars?? Whites Metal Detectors | White's Electronics
So far no manufacture has listened to us, the guys who spend money. A light weight, wireless, multi freq, programmable, weatherproof, with all dust and rain covers and coil options not sold separately.

The trx will be field tested today. It is more sensitive on small targets, not just deeper than my garret pp. The garret has been a very good tool the last few years for me. I hope the trx speeds up target recovery and help with those ghost signals. I noticed the light on the trx is not as bright as the garret trx, I will see if it is good enough. I see why some folks think the trx is falsing, it really is sensitive to changes in the soil, that's a plus for me. A easily fixed problem by the press of a button. Only regret I have is my bad shoulder, I can't heft heavy machines so a whites detector is not a option. The button configuration takes a bit to get used to, but is a very well thought out design. Yes it is a lil pricey, but I hunt professionally and need good equipment.

This is the next piece of gear I need to acquire before the hunting season arrives here in the frozen wilds of South Central Pa.

Thanks all for your experienced input.
I think I will just wait till March and see what comes available.
