Pioneer 505

Hey Shane,

Thanks for the response. I have purchased a pioneer 505 from Kellyco and am waiting for it to be delivered to the house. I won't get to play with it until feb. 14 when I get off this boat and go home. So I am just trying to gather information right now. You have been very helpful. I now live in Arkansas so I won't be down there any time in the near future. The last detector I had was in 1982 I think and its been a long dry spell. I'm ready to start again, and with hunting season ending, I'll have plenty of time to learn. I figure with the new technology since 82, it will at least be as good as the top of the line Garrett that I had back then.

My first date with my then new girlfriend and present wife of 21+ years was at the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair in Oct 1986. Good memories

Hey John,
I oen a Taxi Cab. I often pick up Captains and deck hands from airport/ on the river at Baton Rouge, Plaqumine etc. If ever you port at BR give me a call and you have free transportation anywheres in the area! Just call BAYOU TAXI. 225-288-1283. You will get me and just let me know where your at. Amazing story about meeting wife at state fair. And I wasnt detecting back then but from what I understand these detectors have come a long way. You will enjoy! Shane

 Don't let people rain on your parade! I just bought a 505 from Kellyco, and I also wondered if I had bought a junk machine, as I have ZERO experience MDing. In less than 30 min. I found coins, jewelry, and a gold nugget. I think the higher end stuff is great looking stuff, but not all of us can afford $600.00 to a grand for a machine. I feel the 505 is a good choice for us "poor" folks. I have dreamed of a Whites, or Minelab, but I am astonished with the 505! It is accurate and simple to use. Also, Kellyco has a "scratch and dent" sale on em right now, with just wrinkled boxes, with no damage to the units inside. I would like to move up to a better unit, but for now, I'll hunt with my Cheapo 505! I love it! jimsjinx

Welocme to Tnet Jimsjinx. I posted this almost 2 years ago. I have sence upgraded to a Tesoro deleon, then a Tesoro Cortes. I did enjoy the 505 and it was my "learning" machine. I found alot of stuff with it but honestly it didnt get near the depth that my Tesoros get. At any rate enjoy it, learn all you can from it and if you feel the need you can always upgrade to something else. Keep diggin', Shane
