So today I went back to my river bank. I dug for awhile to no avail until I found this little black bottle. This bottle looks very old I'm thinking possibly an ink bottle or an ink well. I'm curious of its age it's very crude. And it's use. Thank you in advance . - Justin

Looks like an ink well to me too. I think you've got a real old one there. The color is great. No doubt a nice find.

It is hard to tell.Pictures are so dark but it looks like a geometric ink to me Stoddard glass co. If it is it is 2 or 3 hundred. Beautiful.

Sorry for the pics I'm a horrible photographer lol. Is there a way to tell for sure if it's stoddard ?

Looks like it could be a Pitkin ink to me, could be 1780-1820's, great find and good money if undamaged. Better pics in natural light please...

It is an older piece. There are some experts on here who can hopefully ID your find or put it in the right date range. I think you have a good find there. Good luck and keep digging

I can't believe I just sold it for some hefty pocket change.

3000 bucks I can't believe it. And I had no intentions of selling it. I guess it's a one of a kind piece.

How did you sell it? Auction, ebay or what?
