Playground cleaning for fun and profit

I don't know about profit yet - but I did find $1.39 in clad and a bunch of nails and pop-tops and a huge steel spike - Still trying to find a ring or two - but no luck.....yet

Feels kind of like I am doing a service by removing all the dangerous debris - that and all the hotwheels I find I set on the side of the playground for the kids to play with.....

A week and a half and still loving it - I think I am hooked.

Stay at it and your rings will come. I find a few every now and then when testing a new detector at a playground.

watch how much you disc ---rings and pulltabs are close on the conductivity scale ---- so to get rings you gotta dig tabs

That's what I do, too. I don't have a lotta use for hotwheels, and it cuts down on the clutter at home. I like finding the big trucks, because you know some kid is goon go nuts when he finds it....

I don't disc much at all - got several pull tabs - they blow my ears off - I figure I am willing to dig as many tabs as I need to in order to find something decent

Welcome Start expanding your search areas around and away from the playground, I find most of my stuff not under, but between the playground equipment. The idea of moving away from the playground is that most playgrounds are hit a whole heck of a lot in a year my other MD'ers, you will incounter alot of different finds when you do this. I figure at some point I will get lucky

I managed to hit half the playground (all sand) this morning in about an hour and a half. I detected all through the area, not just at the equipment. Most of the clad was found at the edge of the sand - there is a short wall/seat area that I am sure people sit on and perhaps lose things......
