PLEASE dont blame the gun

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

Thanks Sniffer. Funny, but also very instructive...you don't want to be around people who don't know what they're doing. And that TRex is truly a monster...same with that big .cal pistol.

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

In the paper here last year we had 2 or 3 officers in a 2 week time span either shoot another officer or themself! ::)

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

I haven't shot one, but I heard it's like shooting a Desert Eagle

Have you ever shot one? If so what would you compare it with?

No...not sure I'd want to but probably couldn't resist. The general rule is to hold the butt against your shoulder very tightly for big recoil. If you leave any slack it has the room to gain speed and momentum and you see what was in the video. Some of these oversized guns, though, have such huge recoil that the outcome may be dependent on your size and strength as well as your proficiency with firearms.

EDDE may have shot something like it.

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

just like your MD machine

practice will make you sure of your targets

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

according to my CCH instructor, cops only hit what they aim at 1% of the time. while the bad guys are hitting
at about 60%. maybe that's why cops blow off about 50 rounds before they hit somebody, but the bad guys shoot one clip and get at least 3 hits

That's a good point. You have to be mentally willing to end someone's life and motivated to survive regardless of the cost. Copsmight not be as willing or able to enter that zone compared to an outlaw. Just a thought.

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

Beep, when I was still 10th MT, it would have been no problem, now after starting the family and seeing my kids grow up, I know I couldn't do it

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

sniffer * I bet that is unless the scum was threating the wife ,kids or yourself --then I bet your old survival mode training would kick in --

while I'm not eager to hurt someone --( since only a fool seeks out trouble of this type)----- I must say if push comes to shove -- my plan is for me and mine to be alive at the end of the day -- no matter who's gotta go to make it happen .

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

Whew, now I know who's monitor to hide behind.

Cousin had an old swivel mount deck gun, about 2 inch bore. After swigging the jug we'd see who could fire it off and still have it upright and in their hand afterward. Plant the stand in the ground, load and fire. BLAMMO, cousin took out the magnolia bush about 20 feet away.

Auntie who warned all to not to do that near her bushes or flowers, meanwhile, had an axe handle....

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

Plebah, the instructor, who gave us that info, was an airborne ranger, I didn't say it.
quit trying to start something negative, if that's what you want to do, go to some other forum
nobody wants to hear rants started, they do have a thread for that
and in case you didn't notice, I'm ex-10th MT, so I was in the military.
When was the last time you stood a post or had battalion armory duty?

Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun

Generally I am very appreciative of any life in any form, from plants - insects, - animals and lastly humans. I being a bit silly, if I find a lessor form of life with problems, I simply help it out, such as if I find a scorpion in my room I show him his new home in the garden. I only kill them or destroy plants with regret because of necessity.

However with aggressve humans, it is a bit different since they can reason and realize that what they are doing is wrong

Under proper stimulous, such as some one shooting at you, or your family, you will shoot back, unless you are socially bound to the point of being suicidal .

Twice I have had no problems in shooting back with bad intentions for them, successfully I might add. The main problem for the law abiding citizen is to shoot first under a life threatening situation, here we fall down because we do respect human life, While the baddie, who isn't concerned about your life or moral law, shoots first..

Most gun battles, today as in the old west, are won by who shoots first, then by who shoots most accurately.. Forget the movies and TV !
