Re: PLEASE don't blame the gun
in the "real" old west there was none of the "hollywood" high noon shoot out stuff -- only one event even came close (the famous wild bill "watch" shoot out)-- shot in the back from a nearby alley with a sawed off double barrel -- more likely then not was how many bad outlaw"gunman" died --since few "normal" folks were fool enough to try to draw on a stone cold killer.. -- dead was dead -- and when dealing with murders and theives there was no "code of honor" to follow -- shoot first , shoot straight , shoot often (untill they were dead) -- since wounded enemies if they lived , even if badly maimed once they recovered could "back shoot" or bushwhack you later -- you couldn't afford the risk of that --to always be "looking over your shoulder" might make you miss what danger lie ahead of you.
