Looks like it clearly says 1907, but when you zoom in it could be 1897..1947

1909...not from this distance. Unfortunately that landscape is not unique and has probably dramatically changed .

Thank you IMAUDIGGER. I meant to post as 1907 but my fat fingers posted 1909. Thank you for your input

If you would take a close up photo of the signature, I bet we could figure out who the artist was.

I posted a close up of the signature and if you doubleclick on it it comes in even closer :)

Go to the askart.com site. Spend some time (pencil and paper) working on the first initial of the first name. Next write down what you see as the first 2 or 3 letters of the last name. Don't be shy about trying different combinations, a lot of a's will look like e's and so on. The search function at askart does not require a complete name, just the first few letters. It will return a list of names that fit the first letter descriptions. You have a date, that is helpful as it was certainly painted while that person was alive. If that artist has had any auction sales, or was a member of a club or a listing in the Edan Hughes book you will get a hit.It will not take you long to figure it out. Good luck.

Thank you.....I will look there. :)

I am thinking it may be William L Carrigan.......but........????

I thought T.L. Or F.L.

You must have a good imagination. I can't find a "W" in there.
I'd probably try photographing the signature at different angles with different types of light.
Then edit the photo to possibly enhance that specific color.

Maybe a little easier to see on a larger monitor.

I love the painting, but I'm stumped. It looks like American Impressionism and the date would be right for that. I'll keep looking.
What's the size? Do you know where it came from?

Here are some confirmed signatures by William L Carrigan. I am thinking this is the artist. Any and all opinions are appreciated.sig with date.webpsig.webpsignature.webp

Having a hard time with that first initial being a "W" and the "L" is different.
The rest seems plausible.

Is the painting done in his style for that time period?
