The words are from the 1927 song "Bless This House," written by two English women. You'll hear it sung a lot around Thanksgiving. Looks like this was a plaque that at one point was framed and hung in someone's parlor. Sweet. Nice find!

Its a great find..........we don't Thanksgiving here, and so haven't heard the song.
It would be made of copper?

looks like a backing plate for a fireplace, and from the deminsions i would say possibly one built for coal as they were narrower .....if this is what it is it may be very valuable........most of the ones you see are cast iron but i saw one on antiques roadshow that was thin like this, appraised for megamoney......gldhntr
