Re: Please identify what type of arrowheads that I found

Top is an Adena type variant, often called a "beaver tail" and the other is an effigy- Where did you find them???!!!?? Specially the effigy....

Re: Please identify what type of arrowheads that I found

I IDed them right away, beautiful points! What is an effigy? I have never seen one of these. HH and nice finds, Mike

Here's a similar effigy. Don't know if yours is comparable though. Nice finds.

Re: Please identify what type of arrowheads that I found

If you found it in the dirt yourself it's a once in a lifetime find- better than cool... if you bought it or it was given to you, you have to be careful, these are reproduced in large numbers... almost can't trust one unless you find it yourself or are an expert in the field.

Nice looking arrowheads you have there, capgun. I'd be careful about saying where you found those, unless you know your state's laws on possession of Indian artifacts. Over here in CA, finding Indian artifacts on Indian sites is a federal offense. Not sure about your neck of the woods...
