My Ghost Town Finds from Yesterday

While my buddy Miguel was finding the gold I was picking up this junk.
Honestly though, I had a blast, and am well pleased with the hunts results.

The key is brass.
The cash coin is a larger one at 29mm. It is from the reign of emperor Daoguang (1821-1850) and minted in Beijing.

Got another .56 Spencer rimfire case and two I haven't been able to identify yet.

It was a fun day, but I know that place has a lot more treasures in store for us. Maybe more gold.

Yeah finding gold is nice but love an old skeleton key like that and the Chinese cash coin. Any merit to them coming over with Chinese workers building the railroads??

Almost every mining town out west had many Chinese in them. They had many businesses that the miners depended on, and yes, they also worked the railroads.

The soil you were hunting in was apparently pretty good. Most of the two tongue buckles we dig rarely have any silver wash on them. Curious if yours had a date on it. Most of the ones I dig do.
