here are some of my plum run artifacts from ne ohio,plum is a local flint in the vanport formation like flint ridge,its pretty much only in a 3 county area in ne ohio

thanks everyone, the neat thing with plum is that it patinates to reds and yellows the fresh flint from the quarrie is gray almost like a dark hornstone , as it patinates even farther it starts to get a dull black with red banding you can pretty much tell the age by the color

I often wondered if Plum Run didnt get its color changes due to being heat treated rather than patinazation??very nice frames,thx for sharing your plum run artifacts :thumbsup:
