Brass, 21.55 mm, I believe the backmark says “CARTER” and “STREET”. Any thoughts on what this is and how I can clean it to make it more readable? From a pre-1812 fort in the southeast.

Could it read "Carter/ Lombard Street"? If so, Joseph Carter was in business from at least 1780 to 1835. I can't make out the design on the front. What does it look like to you?

I believe it is a cannon and a stack of cannon balls. I think it is an Albert AV8.
