I have an opportunity to buy this piece, the seller is describing it simply as a Military Cartridge Box.
I'm hoping the experts here might be able to tell me where this piece originated and the age.
I have no details on the dimensions or what the interior looks like other then the pics you see...
This button appears to have the letters “OUV” on the front and “WALKER No” and “KING STREET” on the back. This is from an early 19th century site in North Alabama. Research suggests it is an Oxford University Vols button, but that would be pretty hard to imagine being found here.

Dug both of these in Detroit years apart different sites one is solid one is hollow like a shell. Looking for any info on these could be war 1812 or French Indian war.
