Possible Native artifact New Brunswick Canada

Found this in a dried up creek bed near A city in New Brunswick Canada. Is it a native artifact? The blacksection is indented in the rock.

looks like a graphite pencil made the dark area
other than that, it looks natural - IMO

It may be a fossil but different then what I generally find
