Hello all,
Several years ago I was working in the high desert of central California and was rockhounding for petrified stuff. I found a couple of interesting rocks. Fast forward and I started getting interested in meteorites. I revisited my past collections and found some magnet reactive stones that looked suspect as meteorites. One of them broke apart into 4 pieces as I was cleaning it up. I slabbed a piece and cleaned the others. Streak seems right, when I polish thr dust comes off as brown and they are heavy for the size. When viewed without magnification seems like a magnetite or basalt. But under magnification there are red/brown crystals throughout. I keep trying to find out what terrestrial rock this may be. Nothing seems to match. Any help is appreciated. Take a look and let me know your thoughts. Thanks for your time.
