Lincoln City OR, Cascade head Pirate treasure near Salmon River shipwreck, Carnelian Crystal Skull

nice carnelians, I have thousands of those picked up along the coast... and yes, a lot of worn smooth just like yours... unusual, but not exceptional.
can you share them for review please? Preferably with some back lit photos to show circular scratches.
thank you

that will take some time to go through my PILES of agates... kept at the beach house, but i will get around to it

here is one of my favorites... notice on the pix that is not backlit how the core is exposed by some surf tossed chipping... all natural...love this one

I can clearly see a face in your fist pic, unclemac. Second pic looks like grey matter protruding from the broken open cranium. Very nice!

its round but hardly polished smooth like the circular scratches on the surface show. likely the artist started with a similar piece like this and ground down all those bumps to a flat surface... even on the raised surfaces the luster is dulled out, not reflecting light back at the viewer the same way. Which can really be seen in the cleaved area whereas the undercut in the stone I have has a similar high degree of polish, not cloudy.

it would be really cool to put a small LED light in that cleaved area and make it a piece of jewelry that glows like a lamp.

yes I know, but it is the only one I have readily available at the moment. You have to give me a few weeks before I get down there again.

where do you find your agates on the Oregon coast? I am on Willapa Bay
