...just though I'd post these drilled shards...guess it was from being repaired? The round one I suppose was used as a.....? I hang some on the wall cause they're so pretty.....
Added this last one just because it's nice.....
Not being repaired. Gator Boy hit it on the pendant. They would drill out some pieces and uses them as pendants, and maybe some broken pieces they would drill them out and just like you hang them up for decoration. Depending on the area you're in, some round pieces might have been used as weights for bow drills.
...OK pottery pendent for some of them, thanks Gator Boy! And some "maybe weights" RGINN, interesting & thanks for info! hi rock, thanks for liking the colors...we do get a variety of them!
Those are really nice. I think the one directly beneath the round one might be a pendant or decorative piece as well. It looks like it was shaped a bit after breaking. Before pottery, soapstone vessels were often repaired as well...
...yes Charl you are right it is shaped and thanks for the soap stone pic., didn't know that! And thank you for the "repair" pic. Gator Boy, wow 2 holes! And...Tn I also am learning a lot....thanks everyone!
