power jet or suction nozzle

HI.that depends greatly upon your dreding conditions and materiel. In general for shallow water a power jet, for best recovery a suction nozzle. More details on your contemplated area.

A suction nozzle is designed for shallow water because it is self priming and sucking air slows it down but doesn't stop it from operating. A powerjet needs its' jetlog underwater to maintain a prime and to work. You sound good to go up to a 3" hose, but again, length of hose and height from waters surface are also mitigating factors. Some highbankers are WAY too high and make it tough to pump that water and gravel load that high. Tons a au 2 u 2-John

the area I go to is less than 2 feet in most places the deepest is 4 to 5 feet ,so I'm thinking a suction nozzle
