PRAYERS NEEDED FOR MEL AND GAYLE

UPDATE : PRAYERS NEEDED FOR MEL AND GAYLE...startingwith Post#42

Folks..........

Tomorrow...Tuesday...March 4th....at 10:15 A.M.....My wife, Gayle, will be going back into the hospital for another surgery. Previously they were able to break up the kidney stones; however, since then, Xrays show that there are 3 tiny fragments that are stuck in the stent that is connecting her kidney and her bladder. Because the stent has been in for several months, it is beginning to cause problems.....i.e., Gayle is experiencing significant problems with her legs. There are times that I have to physically lift her from the tub, no easy task.

At this point tomorrow, the surgeon is hoping to go in, see if the ureter has healed sufficiently. IF it has healed sufficently, then he probably will remove the stent (stone fragments inside)....and everything will be peachy....and that should finally be the end of this whole ordeal.

However, if the ureter has not healed sufficiently, he will probably remove the stent and put in a new one. Then, remove it months down the road.

However, if the ureter has not healed at all, he probably will stop the surgery....call in a transplant team...cut out the damaged part of the ureter, and transplant her kidney down closer to her bladder. Major surgery.

Now...keeping in mind that in the last surgeries, she went septic 4 times, with her kidneys shutting down into renal failure. This is a distinct possibility once again.

So, my friends.....I ask for prayers for Gayle for tomorrow's surgery...and her ensuing healing.

I probably won't be online tomorrow until late......but, I'll try to let Stoney or Evy know of the outcome. Right now, we are trying to be optimistic about it all.....that it will be a wham/bam/thank you ma'am. If it is, she will remain in the hospital overnight for precautions.

Thanks in advance.

AND

ALL WENT WELL TODAY! THANK GOD! Whomever doesn't believe in prayers....come talk to me, brother! WOW

Folks....UPDATE....as of 1 A.M. Wednesday morning...............

Gayle came through the surgery pretty darn good..............not perfect, but that's ok! In the surgeon's words........"The ureter hasn't healed perfectly, but it looks pretty darn good if I must say so myself!"....and the doctor actually looked like he was about to cry. He was actually touched that things had gone so well. He was able to take the stent out, and everything at this point seems to be functioning ok........not perfect, but ok. And that's great news.

It looks like she might be released from the hospital tomorrow to come home. However, the doctor is concerned about her leg problems. So, it looks like we are not out of the woods totally yet....but, we are going in the right direction. Folks, most of you know, this has been a long ordeal for the 2 of us.....essentially almost 8 months worth.

So...we are in the right direction!

Thanks to all of you for the thoughts and prayers,
Mel and Gayle

Mel,

Glad to hear the good report, and thanks for the update :)

Just another lesson to those who pray to other gods...their prayers go unanswered ;)

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
