I HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF PIECES LIKE THESE ON A COLORADO RANCH. THEY ARE LARGER SIZES AND EVERYWHERE. TO ME THEY LOOK PREHISTORIC, NEANDERTHAL LIKE, BUT THAT ISN'T POSSIBLE ACCORDING TO HISTORY. SO CAN ANYONE TELL WHAT TYPE OF TOOLS I'VE FOUND AND POSSIBLY WHO MADE THEM. THANKS

I'm not much help but they look "fresh" as opposed to weathered and broken instead of worked. They don't look like the edges have been worked, just broken.

Could they have been the byproduct of breaking larger pieces looking for geodes or other minerals?

In your area, there were traveling bands of "nappers", that would make nice flints of different sizes, for other bands (tribes) for barter. Just a guess.
Found several piles of pieces and broken flints when I lived in Wyoming.
