An 18-million-kronor (£1.5million) project to preserve a 380-year-old Swedish shipwreck has been announced by the Swedish Research Council.

Thnx for the great post as usual!

It never ceases to amaze me how well preserved the wrecks in the Baltic are. Of course it helps that the water temp is near freezing year-round .

The Vasa was a ship in which the Swedes where proud of back when it was made. It was top of the line in it's days I think.

It seems it is very popular by tourists now and as such i understand they want to secure that; so even more tourists can give out some $$ and to see that ship.

I've not seen in in person but I know a few who have. They adored to be there.
