okay if I upgraded the DFX to the v3i that would be a big plus. would i need to upgrade to the equinox next year? Should i just go from the DFX to the minelab? thanks,Don.

Just go for broke and get the CTX. It'll be cheaper in the end because that is where you will go next. [emoji4]
