An Internet search says Minelab detectors are made in Australia and Malaysia, not China.

I typed the guys name and address on google search. His name is Rahila Momim from Oak Point TX company is Detector Warehouse. The box certainly looks like it came from Minelab but it is clearly marked “made in China”. It was a gift from my brother. I put it together. Everything seems fine. Can’t wait to try it out. My right shoulder is totaled from a work injury back in ‘07. The Swingy Thingy didn’t help too much. This seems like it will make a big difference. Hopefully I can last more than a couple of hours

I believe Minelab does have some things made in China, as well as Malaysia. I've heard that their Go-Find detectors were made in China. The most expensive Go-Find detector sells for $169.99, no way Minelab could be making that themselves, has to be made in China to sell for that price. Also, check this out. I was just on Minelab's website and looks like they've redesigned and improved the Vanquish line.

I've pasted some pics below to show the differences, but the previous Vanquish detectors were red with a horizontal control box. The search coils are waterproof, but the detectors weren't. But these new Vanquish detectors have a vertical control box, and are fully waterproof down to 16ft, just like the X-Terra's and NOX's. I'll take a guess and say that the Vanquishes are probably made in Malaysia.

But check out the control box on the new one. Anyone else think that they look like a Nokta?
