I could kick myself for not getting a pic of the 100 year old mine I was at this last weekend.... but, I got some pics of the surrounding area! A LOT of quartz and pyrite in this ore, but I'm willing to bet if I crush it I'll get gold too.....👍

Ye, crush and pan and use a magnet to get the iron out!

If any of these pieces have gold, it will be microscopic, I would have to crush these and pan them. But to me it wouldn't be worth it, as it would be a small amount, and I like them as specimens. I am currently working on getting a claim, it's in the same mountain range, just above Sheridan, gold was mined from Virginia city to Sheridan since the 1860's.
