GARRET 1350
Ive just recently bought a GTP1350 and am really having problems figuring it out. all the reviews say its an awesome, simple to use machine. I switched to this machine from a whites classic ID 3 which i really liked. but this one is supposed better. My problem is that when running on coin mode, which is all i use. I cant ever tell when to to dig and when not to, it seems that the machine is giving false signals. sometimes it reads a good signal, but when I scan back over the suppose object, the signal does not come back. I live in lower Texas, were the ground is not very mineralized. Will someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or just give me some helpful pointers on the 1350. Thanks

hi, i use a gtax750, basically the same, try a slightly higher sensivity setting or as high as you can as long as its stay's stable, try moving the coil slower, 1m/s is enough, bury some coins and practice, if youre not sure switch to all metal momentarily and scan again, it might be that what you found just lies a bit to deep, if you use the standard coil the garrett finds the tiniest things, see one of my posts, a silver flipper figure apr 4mm square at 25 cm in dry sand.
also, if the target lies tilted try scanning in different directions, at last pinpoint the target and when youre above it scan again moving the coil just a few cm, that should give a clear reading. hh djkam

Funny, but I was going to say the opposite. Try LOWERING the sensitiviity. You may get falsing from whatever minerals are there.

You may also want to make sure your coil cable is wrapped tightly OVER the rod. I use velcro to secure mine.

Good luck

garrett machines react very similar.. i use a master hunter cx, my son a 250 - if the signal isnt strong and repeatable prob not an item " worth diggin" i dig most targets... the junk get interesting... but if you want to know what you are diggn up - dig solid hits... max sensitivity is good if it stays stable..

Are you too high on the sensitivity maybe. If it's too high you could get erratic readings...

I have a Garrett CXIII, a White's PRL1 and just picked up an ACE 250. I got this a lot on the White's amd I am noticing the same thing on the ACE 250. It seems to be very sensitive to "hot rocks" or coal. Are you digging up coal?

no not at all. somtimes when I hit a good sounding target, I will try to pinpoint it and it just seems to disaper. some times it does not respond to a coin after I have found it in the ground and then wave it in front of the coil. I dont no what the deal is with it. I just got it not to long ago and im still trying to figure it out. It reacts alot different than my last detector "Whites classic ID". but Im geeting the hang of it. THANKS for all yalls help
