Public MDing in Tucson

Hi,

I am new to metal detecting. I was wondering if there are any laws or regulations regarding metal detecting in the washes, in the grassy areas that lie between shopping centers and the main roads, etc. Basically on public land. I lost a metal bracelet at a certain corner a long time ago. I am almost certain it is gone by now, but I really liked it and I can't help but harbor a slight bit of hope it might have gotten buried there or caught under a rock, etc. Does anyone know if MDing in public places is legal in Tucson? Marana? Oro Valley? Please let me know. I am aware I need a permit to search in parks, but I'm not sure about public areas. Thanks

Hey,

I am new to metal detecting too and live in tucson. I dont know about shopping centers and such but i was metal detecting at a public park in Oro Valley and a kindly maintenance lady told me i would need a permit from parks and recreation (which is free) to continue doing so.
