I hunted a corner lot where a dilapidated building was recently torn down. I dug a penny or 2 to start the hunt but after that there wasn't too much else. That is, unless you like pull tabs ::) I dug 109 pull tabs, 1 live 22 magnum round and 5 pennies in a span of 3 1/2 hours. What's the ratio of pull tabs to gold rings again? :(

Wow! I must say that should be a record for pull tabs.
If it is, it's not exactly the record I wanted to be known for. ;D ;D ;D

YOU ARE THE PULL TAB KING FOR THAT DAY. BEST LUCK AND KEPT HUNTING.

i'd rather dig pull tabs than nothing at all.

$ .50 a lb for aluminum cans and
$ .65 a lb for extruded aluminum in my area.

I took off early from work and went to my best spot and dug nothing but junk, Oh it was old junk (no pull tabs here), but junk.

WOW!
.50 A POUND?
We have been picking up all the aluminum we find for the last year.
Not so much for the money but just to haul out the junk.
Our thought is we are doing our small part to help keep mother earth cleaned up.
LeeAnn just went out and weighted the pull tabs we have collected and came up with 23.6 lbs.
Now I am no mathematician but I deciphered ( I have to be nakid to count to 21) that comes to $11.80 in just pull tabs.
If that is true, with all the cans we have collected too we will be moving on up!
It is a free day off today so it might be a good time to cash in some scrap metal.
Make it a great day!

23.6 pounds ! WOW ! How long did it take you to accumulate that much weight in pull tabs alone?

willie d ... This property was not too big and I covered almost all of it. I don't plan on going back.

Have you gave it a shot with your other machines//coils, yet?
Perhaps try it again when the weather//soil conditions change...

So far, you've made a big investment in clearing out all that scrap, trying with some different factor will certainly not be as much work.

... I've been reading, and reading, and reading about many different machines and most impressed that gold will pop up almost anywhere across the range, and almost all experienced users have discovered valuable finds in the very places they have been MANY times before!

I've been thinking about searching the lot again. I drive by it a few times a day. I think it's "calling me" to come back. We'll see.
