Quarter not correct?

I got this in change a few days ago and this quarter is a dark yellow coating to it all over. I dont know if it was a dying mistake or something. I have 2 photos comparing it to a normal quarter. Thanks. Also on the edge of the coin you know how normal coins have that half copper then the clad color on the edge this one does not have that.

The photo does not show the real color to well but the color is the color of the US presidential dollar coins

Doesn't look like it. Dinged, some oxidation also. You will likely find an error coin, in time, simply because they are out of circulation & no one has picked it. Keep Swinging the Coil & HH!

Weigh the gold quarter and compare the weight with a normal quarter. If the gold one is light you might have an error. Is the gold one thinner than another quarter?

They have a tendency to change color if dropped on the ground, in sand or chips and not found for a while. Chemical change, like bigfoot said.

You may want to run the comparison photo through some simple photo software if you have it, even on ur phone to correct the warm tone of the pic and restore the color balance, that way we can see what's going on in the pic. I would say yea it's a little strange seeing a gold one, but not as weird as the metallic purple one I found last week. Haha
