Here's some pictures of quartz artifacts I've found in central Georgia and central Alabama.

I am originally from S.C. & quartz points are the most common material I have found. I always wondered when I found some nice chert , if it was achieved by a trade in S.C.

I think mid ga and AL to your area (and probably a little beyond) was the quartz belt.
