Found at a very productive native American site. Stuck out like a sore thumb, we do not find this material in our area...

Quartzite river/creek cobbles in my area were frequently used as hammerstones. Looks like yours might have some use wear.

Very cool! Awesome to find the tool responsible for creating the flint artifacts we all cherish! I always contemplate about the guy/gal that may held it hundreds or thousands of years ago and the circumstances that resulted in them leaving it behind...
