Well lately CRH hasn't been that great or at least nothing worth mentioning. I have found a few better date nickels that have serious grime on them. Is there anyway to get the grime off of them without making them a classified "cleaned" coin? :help:
I would like to put them in my book which I finally started after getting sick of just throwing them in plastic tubes. Thanks.

Even the use of soap and water makes it a "cleaned" coin. My next step would be to tumble it using epoxy-coated aquarium gravel, a method i use on my dug coin. Tumble in 15-30 min. intervals until you get the desired results. Really cleans up the wheats and clad.
Then again, it might take A LOT of cleaning to damage the numismatic value of the Jefferson nickel.

Thanks FFD, I'll try it. I know the nickels probably aren't worth worrying about, I just want to try to complete a good quality book while CRH. Even though they aren't worth much, the thought of a "cleaned" coin in the book makes it feel less of an accomplishment.
