I took two boxes of halfs to my bank that I had for years as my dump bank, in one shot is this ok.
I mean it was heavy but I brought them in spent some time at the coin counter then, took my ticket to the teller and added a few dollars to get my thousand back for round two.

I also opened a account in another bank that I am getting them from.

also would it be a good idea to order boxes from different branches of the bank u are going to buy them from.
I orderd another two boxes from the same bank I picked em up from yesterday was this ok.

guess after I do it for a while I will learn the ropes

I try to have 3-4 dump banks that I never get coins from. I will get coins from other branches of these banks but not the dump banks. It tends to make for bad feelings if you dump and buy from the same branch, besides you may get your rejects back faster. But on the other hand other people are still bringing in their halves that will get mixed in with yours.

I try to spread dumping out. Even if its a little bit here and there once a fed bag fills up it gets rerolled, and with other peoples stuff coming in, I get rejects back, I just want to up the odds of getting rejects back with other customers silver coins. particularly on bags where is the "policy" to send them to the fed when full and they cant or wont sell em.
Also, spend the suckers around town on needed expenses, gas, groceries, postage, and odds and ends. If your spending the money anyway it may as well be in halves. This pulls some from circulation for a while as some clerks buy some of them for them selves, and also when they get deposited fill up fedbags at banks that you normally would not or could not dump at. I have been able to buy bags at banks that were just a few dozen dollars off from being sent in, some of them have been adding up for years. you never know when that $50 in gas you buy in halves is going to fill a fed bag somewhere and a couple weeks later ends up back with you with silver!

that's a good way to look at it.
my bank said they had 0 half dollars and they did not know they made them anymore when I called them to try to get some.
that's why I decided to make it my dump bank and guess now they know they make em still.
I opened a new account in different bank now thats were I am getting them from.

I try to spread the load around, order bank has more branches then order from them, dump bank has more branches with coin counter- use them. I 'try' to not go to the same branch more than once a week- after a few weeks your just that once a week guy, and they never have to know that your also hitting the other branches "once a week 2". I consider it sharing the load, coin is heavy and when you dump a grand they gotta change the bag. You don't want to be that guy that comes in every day. I get them chocolate coins from Party City (don't get the ones from the dollar store they taste like wax) and give to the tellers when I'm picking up or dumping, lets them know that you appreciate the effort= $1000 in halves is heavy so I call them vitamins. I also remind them NOT to run them through the coin counter cause they would break it haha. HH Mark

Good idea, the head teller at one bank has been muttering "fees for boxes" but my personal teller says he ignores her cause she is tight on everything.

Its just a nice jesture and its appreciated. I tried the donut thang and it was much more expensive and I was informed that all the tellers are on DIETS- so YOUR NOT HELPING LOL. BTW I save the candy for the lady tellers, unless like yesterday the guys gave me two Bens. I used to automatically toss the bag of candy coins but one guy looked at ME like %$#@ you dude till I told him to share it with the ladies and he said "I'll be sure to tell them where it came from too". Word of advice- once you have given candy... don't forget it, I got some chocolate junkies on ME route that would probly beat ME with that bag of halves if I did haha. HH Mark
