I didn't go there to get mine , but next time I upgrade It may be worth the 105 mile trip, that way i wouldn't have to wait for shipping time!!!

I don't think I would go to Whites' again for a metal detector. I bought mine through Kellyco.

Doesn't it cost more ? I've never found the manufacturer undercutting the dealers.
Apart from shipping the big advantage should be that you would get a detector fresh off the assembly line with any modifications carried out.
