One day while walking in the woods, I found a rock embedded in the ground. It seems to have what might be regmaglyphs on it as well as a semi-glossy coating which could be the fusion crust (Picture 1). After a few hours of internet research I finally gave up and nearly a year later I decided to dremel it open.

As I started to cut it, a plume of dust and rock shot off and then sparks began to fly out from the incision. It took awhile to cut through, but it finally opened and exposed the core. The material inside was not a brilliant, lustrous nickle or iron, but a dark, pocked material (Picture 2). I tried to test its magnetic properties, but as you can see in the 3rd picture, it is only slightly magnetic--I can barely hold up a small fragment. Please help if you can, I'm extremely biased and unsure about this. Thanks!

Probably not a meteorite. You can go here to see how to identify. How to Identify a Meteorite -- Step 6
