Dantheman and I hunted for an hour this afternoon in the 25 degree weather! We hit an old cellar hole that we've been working. Didn't take me long to unearth this one. Very happy about this find!

Awesome 2 center. Congrats on that great find. Go get some more you lucky dog! LOL  jgas

Nice 2 center. Most of the ones I've seen dug are 1864 or 1865. Now you need to go for the complete set. :D :o

Oh YEAH! Nice work, buddy.

Keep it up and you'll be all over some LC's in no time. You're hitting the right age coins now to be finding them. :)

Congrats on that awesome 2-center...

Braving the cold weather certainly paid off for you !!!

Ah very nice two cent piece!

Thanks everyone!!! I've been finding some real nice old coins lately, which has me on cloud 9 - and like buckleboy said - I'm getting close to the large cent that continues to allude me . . . Still have 26 days this year to reach that large cent goal!!!

This is an amazing site. Within very small 200 sq ft. area at this particular site we have found 1863,1871,1865,1867 IH's, 1866 Shield, and this 1867 2 cent - buttons, buckles and other things. We really haven't been able to move far from the area b/c we are digging dozens of signals. Plus, there is about an acre and a half of good huntable land around it! The house was HUGE. I'm thinking these folks had some $$$$ and slippery fingers.
