Race To 50 Skunks - Wednesday's 10 Boxes

Picked up 10 Boxes Yesterday. Results - - -

Box 1 - Skunk
Box 2 - Skunk
Box 3 - Skunk
Box 4 - Skunk
Box 5 - Skunk
Box 6 - Skunk
Box 7 - Skunk
Box 8 - Skunk
Box 9 - Skunk
Box 10 - Skunk

This brings total to 25 skunks. My goal is to do 50 boxes to see if I can match my Jan-Feb streak of 50. Appears this is not going to be an issue. Once I achieve this, I will be going back to dimes. I have spoke to tellers and they confirmed that my boxes indeed are straight from the Fed in Omaha Nebraska and not from a courier like Brinks, Loomis or Garda. All banks in my area are serviced by the Fed, so ordering from different banks makes no difference.

I am not posting this as a way to vent my frustration - I fully expected the skunks, but thought it would be interesting to see if I can match the 50. Before January, my boxes were pretty good with keepers every few boxes and some with 20+. Not sure what happened once the new year rolled around.

I pick up 10 more boxes tomorrow.

Come on, we all know that nothing comes directly from the Federal Reserve. Go out and look at the map provided by the fed. That would mean that any coin delivered to Florida from have to come from Atlanta, GA. It does not, they are all serviced by districts that have coin banks for all the banks in that district. The money belongs to the bank you deposited it into (Debits/Credits). Loomis/Garda/Brinks/Wells/Local shubbery man/Plumper only deliver the coins from the coin bank and their accounted is credited with the withdrawl.

If you get the chance and this applies to all, take a tour of the local Federal Reserve branch. You will learn more than the tellers/bank managers/custodians/ATM repairman/etc.

Indirectly, all banks are serviced by the Fed. They are members/shareholders. They are required. But, the Federal Reserve does NOT service banks directly with cash/coin distribution.

Funny that you mentioned this. We are in the midst of our vacation and I wanted to go to DC. Well, due to a mixup at our account's office, our income tax check did not get deposited, so know we have to wait for a check (4-6 weeks ). We were going to get into the Philly Mint (Already Cleared), Federal Reserve (Already Cleared), Pentagon (Cousin is a retired full bird and we vetted through him) and all of the memorials. Now it looks like the coin show in Orlando this week-end and possibly Key West for the rest of the week.......

Usually, the Head Teller/Vault Manager qualifies.
