Racer and Pinpointing

Need some help judging depth of target with the Racer. I understand the sound dictates center of target but videos and owners manual say this doesn't Guage the depth. Thanks all

The tone gets higher the closer you are to the target. The number approximates the depth in either cm or inches based on how you have the Racer set up. On coin sized items, I have found it to be fairly accurate in my soil. Tiny items like small earnings or zipper pulls will often show up as being deeper. If you are hunting in 3 tone, jump to 2 tone before digging and it will give more audio clues on depth.
