Rainy Day Hunt

Good steady rain last night and showers today uncovered a few for me . I've been hunting this same 2 1/2 acres for over forty years I try and hunt this camp after a rain . I found a couple of Barbed Gunther arrow points and three rough old dart points early to late archaic . N. California private property

I like those points where one ear is longer that the other. They look wicked. I think I might have one like them. Nice hunt sir!

Are you finding them just out in fields, pushed up in gopher mounds?

I've always loved those Gunther Barbed points. We have nothing like them here.

what is that material the gunthers are made of?

I always appreciate a good sequence of photos showing the point as it was on the ground when you spotted it.
Interesting to see that little quartz point tossed up on top of the weeds and stubble. I’ve fount a couple that way too.

Both of the Gunthers were made from Chert .

Thanks the gophers just kick them out I once found a crystal point an inch off the ground . The point was laying on top of a plant I took a pic and was accused of staging the photo lol .

Yes the gophers and other animals help with the hunt .
