I even bailed the whole internet for a few years... just got burnt and was too busy.

Now is Facebook hiatus... I never joined it.

He needs no help... and just became #3 I think in richest people alive last week I think.

I call it Fakebook.

Good that you were able to cut away from it, me, like my coffee and Mountain Dew, I am addicted. But I did get burnt out on it. In the 80's my sons got real serious about writing programs and we would try to out do each other. My youngest was a wizard, but I somehow made him angry at me for writing a program that disabled his computer and he could not figure it out. It was that point in time I just quit the tech stuff altogether and just used computer for recreation use only. It was not my intention to make my son feel that bad and it certainly was not worth it for me. He stuck with it and today is very, very good at it. I am proud of him.

Yes, you are right on that. I have seen some people that I know who have even listed Mark Z as a "friend". Like we are to believe that they are actually a friend of his ? What a waste.

See ... treasure / metal detecting is / has been a major part of my upbringing / life... so I saw this little site back when it first popped up in the late 90's... and I would surf around on it...

and continued to do so... over the years I watched it change and grow... and have always liked it...

When my 92 year old grandmother became my sole concern and sat around again for a long while... I joined it finally.

Glad I did... this gives me an "out" like I am sure it does many.

So... hence the threads and stirring of the pot so to speak from time to time.
