here are my finds from detecting yesterday and last week the coins in the pic are from great grandmothers house the other two finds are from yesterday the brick was eye ball find i can't find the age though the little heart thing was nice just for 5 min.

well......I guess I should come clean with some things that have happened in the last month. This is going to be uncomfortable for me but I have to deal with it and get it out in the open. You all know that shark fishing is a big part of my life, and has been for 20+years. While I was gone on my trip north the shark boat was pulled over for a running light that was out. That was the first mistake the boys made while I was gone. Upon further investigation it appears that 2 sharks were forgotten in the fish box from the day before wich is a violation of federal law. On top of that there were several shark fins unaccounted for in the bottom of the box. This is a big deal and we are now under federal investigation for illegal shark fining. The press has run with the story and has really made us look bad with a series of articles that are completely false and very damaging to us in the eye of the public. I have been weathering a s**t storm of epic proportions in the last few weeks. Ive had to change my home phone number, ive had the tires on my boat trailer slashed, ive had death threats on my cell phone, everyone in the community knows what happened and they are either supportive or down rite hostile. I feel that in the end we will be vindicated, but there is a chance that we will lose all rights to commercial shark fish. We have 2 shark permits so if we lose one we have another. Each one of these permits cost in excess of 150,000$ and thats if you can even find one for sale. We are expecting hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of fines. We are also halfway done building a new shark boat at a cost of 250,000, and now we may not even be allowed to fish. What we are in trouble for amounts to a violation against our license. Just like not stopping completely at a stop sign, or jaywalking. I now know what it is to be on the other end of fake news. We rolled through a stop sign, we weren't reckless drunk driving !! I cant help but think that if I were there this wouldnt have happened, I would never have let it !! Automatically we must give up our research trips, wich is huge money. And not being able to fish has alredy cost us tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands. 4 entire families are affected and lots of people who depend on us are out of work now. This is why I havnt posted or said much about fishing, especially shark fishing. Ive been so worried that I havnt even posted on my fishing pic thread. Im sure I will be called into federal court to testify. Who knows I may even be fined or banned from shark fishing. Anything ive posted could be brought up in court so im temporarily not posting any shark fishing pics. Even though we have been cleared to continue fishing while the investigation continues, we just dont have the heart to go right now. People are watching and waiting to make a big scene protesting the second the boat moves. I may have to pull my kid from the school hes in because his teachers and the owner are very left wing and are some of the ones writing some very hateful stuff toward us. Cant see my kid getting fair treatment there now. I cant tell you how many calls ive gotten saying things like " I wish someone would cut your arms off and throw you in the sea" we have never finned fish and thrown the sharks back, but the press wants it to sound that way. Anyway thats enough for now, ill post a link to some of the articles that have been written. I dont usually let things bother me and try to keep a positive attitude, but this is getting ridiculous !! Its bad enough to not be able to go out in public and to have to hide from the public. Ive been carrying my 45 when I go out to shop and eat for fear of confrontation !! I can take the heat but you better not mess with my wife and kid they have nothing to do with my fishing. I actually had a friends drunk wife spit at me !! It took every bit of restraint not to slap the crap out of her !! Im laying low so that my temper does not land me in jail. I definitely know who my real friends are now. Several of my friends have faced an onslaught of ridicule trying to defend us on face book/hate book.

Glad I wasnt there, no excuse, the boys really screwed up. This article is so far off base. They dont mention that we have a federal shark fishing permit. And are to busy praising there interagency cooperation to get all the facts out there. Glad things are starting to cool down now. We are starting to get the facts out there, but that dosent help the black eye I have right now !! Counter lawsuits are being filed as we speak. They will settle out of court and print some back page apology that no one will ever see.

Its taken me this long to even mention it. Im not to worried about me and my future, im a professional fisherman and can fish on just about any boat thats hiring. Im lucky to have my private job, and not to have to rely on the shark fishing only. My crew mates and friends are hurting in a bad way. There could be jail time for them. I have often been asked why I didnt take the captains position when it was offered, and this is the reason. There is to much risk and responsibilities for the reward. If I owned the boat myself it would be different. I could not risk the consequences for only a slight increase in percentage than I make as deck boss/first mate. As captain you are ultimately responsible for every action on the boat, and the buck stops there !! My friend chad will ultimately face the fines and possible jail time not the owner who was not on board at the time !! I often regretted not taking that position and watched as captain chad made 5 % more than me with less experience. Now im reminded why I did not take the position. That extra 5 percent is spent and 4 years at an extra 5 % wouldnt even cover the fines if you had it in the bank !! All of a sudden I dont look so stupid for not taking the position. Now its plain to see that it was smart for me not to take the position. If we get the research back then the rest of the guys will never be allowed to research fish ever again. That will mean that I become the only choice for research trips ill train a new crew and be at the top of the research crew. So there is an outside chance that I wiil come out of this smelling like a rose. Only time will tell, we'll see !!
