I dug the CS half of this rare “Coin Type” tongue at a Confederate camp along the Duck River line near Shelbyville TN. My relic hunting partner dug the bar portion of the tongue. He called me over after finding the bar with a Minelab E-trac. The CS disk was nudged up against a fist sized piece of iron five feet away, but my Equinox 600 sniffed it out. I traded an Indiana Veterans pin I dug last year for the bar. This is my first CS buckle in 23 years of detecting.

After my relic hunting partner dug a CS marked officers spur near Shelbyville last year, I said don’t worry I will dig a CS eventually, and our finds will even out. Today was finally the day after 23 years.

Great Site there & a Banner Find IMO

A "HEWGE" Congrat's to you on one very rare Confetrit' CW relic. This was well worth the wait. This would be a center Show Case in any relic hunters collection. Happy for you man.

Very rare find. Congratulations!!

I wanted to share a picture of the attached tongue with purchased wreath at this point of its restoration. The wreath came from a reputable dealer with a lifetime guarantee that impressed me. The next step is to hand deliver the tongue and wreath to Robert McDaniel to repair the tongue. This was my first C.S. marked Confederate plate and is the find of a thousand lifetimes for me. I’ll post more pictures after Robert finishes his work.

I picked up my CS "Coin Type" two piece buckle from Robert McDaniel today, and WOW:wav:!!! I can't believe how beautiful the buckle turned out.
