RARE NWMP BUTTON

I found a beautiful North West Mounted Police )NWMP) ”MARBLE” button but I know nothing about it. I was told it was 1870-1880 could be from the uniform of a NWMP Band member. I know they are a rare button and would love know other history on it. I found it outside east of Regina Sask while on a trip to see my in-laws. Any info would be great. Thanks all

I live in southern Alberta Canada, but I found this button about 7 hours from my house in the neighbouring province of Saskatchewan
