Had a couple hours to hunt today. I decided to finally try the Nox at my Nova site. (Last year at this site, Nova, NJ Copper and KG’s) It is a super overgrown field that I barreled down last year to be able to swing the coil.

I didn’t have time to barrel today, so just hit the deer paths and bedding areas. I was hoping the Nox would find some targets my Garrett missed. The Nox has been great at mid tones. Got a handful of keepers and a couple buttons.

The one button has 13 stars so I sent a pic to Steve to see if it might be military related. He texted back that it is a Rattlesnake Button, Revolutionary War period!

Here are the pics I sent.

I’m still blown away that significant 1700’s coins and relics can be found within 10 minutes of my house, awesome hobby!!

Need to figure out if I should try to remove some of the clay and crust on the button.

Good luck out there!

Nice one!!!! Awesome historic find.

Awesome finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Killer button! :icon_thumleft:

Beautiful button and a lot of cool finds there, I recognize the Ford key! The long thing above it is interesting too, is it a hair pin?

Sweet old button you dug there.

Wow awesome button! Congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Great looking button. The soil was very kind to it.

Banner vote in.

That Rattlesnake and Stars button is a killer find Thad. A patriotic button from right around the end of the Rev War. I have found two of the coat size. Yours is cuff size and they don't turn up as frequently as the coat size. I have already voted Banner. These buttons have made Banner in the past.

Great find. 10 minutes away and you are loaded with history. A Merry Christmas it will be.
Congrats on a nice button.

Thx for your ID help again. As you said, might be my best find this year. That map dot definitely has produced some serious bucket listers.

Definitely a Banner find. I could only dream of finding one of those. Just wouldn't happen where I live. Anything Rev war is pretty much off the table.
I have seen several posted on here, and im always like oooh, ahhhh, I wish....

I agree, banner! I can't imagine finding a snake button, I have seen a couple in the past posted, and always dreamed of digging one. Amazing piece of history right there, from one of the most important times in this nation's history!

Thx Coinman! I let it dry out. Then most of the dirt flaked pretty easily. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Those are great finds. The Rattlesnake button is a Banner in my book! That site appears to be very very good.
