another savings would come from making Congress only meet 2-3 times a year for short periods, they are always on paid vacation anyway. That would make them part time employee's and the money we saved on the benefit pkgs. they get for like would pay down the deficit, they need a dose of reality as to what their decisions do to the rest of us....they need to live like the rest of us, and under the same rules and conditions....if this was to happen, less would make Congress a career, and attend to the business at hand. The states work with part time citizen legislatures, why not the FEDS......Gary

1. $ 1.5 million each? That's chump change in a $17 Trillion deficit economy. Zero spend that much to go on vacation.
