I just got done watching one of those Treasure Hunting programs on TV where they were scuba diving and picking up bones and teeth and other archeological items, putting them in a little bag, taking them to the surface to examine them....then taking them for their own collections. ![icon_scratch :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:](https://www.treasurenet.com/smilies/icon_scratch.gif)
I'm starting to think that maybe we are taking the wrong approach to metal detecting and all the laws they keep throwing at us.
Maybe WE need a reality TV show, broadcast on some cable channel, (not just the run-of-the-mill U-Tube videos) so everyone can take part in our enjoyment and experiences.
Seriously, there are so many reality shows about everything anymore....fishing, being "Little People", wearing clothes, buying houses, "Treasure Hunting" on a grander scale, cooking...how many cooking shows do we need?![Huh ??? ???](https://www.treasurenet.com/smilies/huh.gif)
What we need to do is get us a filming crew, someone go proposition some network executive and toss this idea to them...( just like Seinfeld's show about nothing)...get some seasoned detectorists to travel the country to these places where detecting is banned...and make a documentary there on metal detecting.
I kinda stole this idea from another thread on here...http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,217900.0.html...
But ....hit these banned places somewhere later in the season, once the show catches on...and when we are denied permission, we can go on national TV and tell everyone..."Mayor so-and-so denied us permission to film a show in his town....
We could incorporate some of the "Dirty Job" skits into it.....climbing through the brush...or how about "Man Versus the Wild"...climbing to places where caches are hidden?
I think we could make a pretty good show about this.
At the same time, the public would gain a better opinion of us...and if we're filming our finds...we get to keep em, right?...Just like the show I watched on TV today where they kept their archeological finds.![thumbsup  ](https://www.treasurenet.com/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Dan has his Podcasts....maybe we need to take this a couple steps further...
Any enterprising folk out there wanna have some fun? You know it would be a great experience.
