Well......what a year....just when I didn't think it could get any better the hits keep coming. I should retire after this year....NOT!! The finds in this post are from a couple of hunts.
First....had plans to meet some of my crew and I was so excited to be out that I got down to the location early, so I went down the road to a old reliable field that has been very very very good to us but things have been pretty quiet there recently. Had about 45 minutes until everyone else arrived. Went to a corner of the field that hasn't seen a ton of action and got a button and piece of lead right off the bat....after about a dozen hot rocks & a few trashy foil bits I got another hot rock-like signal and wasn't feeling very good about it but holy %&$# popped out what I initially thought was a 1 reale. Numerous reales have come off this field including cobs so I was excited to have it. Put it in my treasure tin and kept on swinging. My buddy showed up and we gave a few more minutes and then had to leave to met the rest of the boys.
We had a new field we wanted to go to that we all had high hopes for.....well, it wasn't too good. We should've stayed at old reliable but you know how it is....you have high hopes and you keep thinking the stuff has got to be here somewhere and the next thing you know its getting dark out and you have a pouch full of garbage to show for your efforts. But that's what it's all about. If we didn't stay, we'd be wondering if we missed out and did we leave another mega field.....
So back to the silver reale............after looking at it, it didn't look right, well it didn't look right because it wasn't really a reale, it's a King William III silver sixpence from 1696 or 1697. YES!!!
Here it is.....got some iron crud on it, that explains the crappy signal
Here's the rest of the day's take.....few bits and pieces
So the next trip and this is where its gets real good.......my buddy called me up and said "Hey I bought a new machine, please take me to a field so I can try it out" Said sure.....and we ran down to the old reliable field. Figured since she's in a giving mood and putting out, we better strike while its hot. We spent about 4 hours there going low and slow and did pretty darn good.
Ended up with a bunch of buttons including a really nice Tudor style one from the late 1600s early 1700s, a broken in half 1777 KGIII copper and a really cool token from the Pennsylvania Bicentennial in 1882
Here's the take from that trip.....
Busted KGIII....looks like it may have been drilled and then used as a washer or something and then broke, pretty cool

Now it didn't dawn on me until some time later what had happened over the course of those adventures.....including the token I had dug coinage from 5 different centuries, how cool is that!!
So what I ended up with was the 169? William III sixpence, 1777 KGIII half penny, 1882 Penn token, a 1903 V nickel, and a 2015 Zincoln.....who would have ever thought that a zincoln would be worth saving......well I'm saving this one.
My buddy did very well with his new machine....he took the plunge and stepped over to the dark side and got a Deus. He got a bunch of buttons, and Indian penny and a few misc bits & bobs
I'm pretty sure now that my mojo is going to wear off.....and things will return to normal in the world of Chuck Norris but I'm gonna ride this ride for as long as I can because it has been awesome. What could be possibly be next.......
