Different dates and different sites, an assortment of some of my recent finds.

My 1st Flying Eagle, 1858, the picture doesn't do it justice, it looks like it was dropped the day it was minted. Just the corrosion/patina didn't take very well.

Colonial cuff link - I didn't realize how cool it was until I cleaned it and noticed the deer in the middle that was jumping over a log. Pretty neat!

I like the Pinkerton 2-piece button from the Pinkerton Detective Agency. Researching it was fun, as the Pinkerton agency was involved with the protection of Abraham Lincoln, and other key points in American history.

Anyone have an idea what the star shaped brass/copper disc may have been used/created for? Perhaps some sort of ribbon was attached to it and it was a medal. Based on the stamping, the text makes it look mid 1800's. Could it be military in origin?

Anyway, enjoy the pics.

Great finds! I'm very fond of Flying Eagles. Only found one myself, 1857.

Great pics ! Which state are you searching ? THE Flying Eagle is one of my favs . The deer cuff link is interesting , there have been a few hard to find running fox Tally Ho 's but the deer is a new one .. I believe :icon_scratch: sun pendant is wild , similar to a Chinese throwing star that ninjas use 8-) very Kool

These were all found in Connecticut.

Also, based on that post you reference about the Tally Ho Fox cufflink, I'm wondering if this is a fox. It is very similar in design.

Nice finds! Still looking for my flying eagle

The cufflink and the shoe buckle would make my day!! Nice finds!

Oops my bad about the cuff link definately deer or fox I was too excited to see another one! Awesome find!

Very cool finds, I can't wait to find a flying eagle cent, and a largie, congrats,Eric

you got some nice history there, thanks for sharing.

Cool cuff link, I agree with your first thought, it's a deer.

Like VPR that shoe buckle would be my favorite. I haven't found one as complete, only a couple of parts of.

Very nice digs. Cuff link button is :icon_thumright:

love the cufflink! good hunt

Nice finds! I have that exact star shaped cow tag thingy. Wondering what it is also.

Nice finds! Shoe buckles are always nice as are cufflinks with designs. I am undecided whether that is a fox or deer. The fox on a cufflink was a popular design, and I think a deer would have antlers.....so, if it doesn't have antlers, I lean toward fox.

Interesting, does yours have a name stamped in it? Mine has a persons name stamped on it. Any reason you think it is a cow tag?
