I haven't exactly been tearing it up this spring. Over the last two weekends I have hit a new spot a couple times and an old spot a couple times. The new spot is a house site with an old stone spring house built into the side of a hill. A buddy of mine discovered it while riding quads. It has given up a few things, including a boot pistol barrel, a few flat buttons, Indian heads, and a cool turn of the century laxative advertising token. Based on the flat buttons and the pistol barrel, the place looks as early as the 1850s but as late as 1920. Here are the finds from this spot.

Here is the token. This company started around 1896. This is the first version of their token.

Here is the boot pistol barrel. I have not been able to tell if the proof marks are Belgian or English.

The other site I hit has been one that has been very good to me in recent years. They finally plowed it, but the only plowed deep enough to flip the turf - maybe 5 inches. The only significant find is the keg spigot key. It took me 25 years to find one of these and this is my second this year.

Here is my take for the last two weekends all together.

That barrel is really cool Steve. I'm really digging that keg spigot key

Congrats on the great assortment of Items. Sounds like you have a site with a lot of potential.

Love that boot pistol barrel Mr. That is a wonderful keeper. Was that a movie, Angels In The Outhouse. All great stuff Steve glad your out swinging.

Guess Spanish silver was not to be at this site, but you still managed to pull out some interesting and unique finds. Glad you were able to get out this late in the season.

The boot pistol looks like one I found several years ago. I took it to a gun smith who found a liege mark on the barrel. He identified it as being Belgium made and around the early 1850s. Hope this helps and congratulations on some super finds.

Mine has three marks on the barrel. Underneath there is a "2" and another mark I can't make out. On the side there is a small circle that may have more detail, but there is some rust obliterating it.

very cool find Steve! I have always wanted to find a boot pistol!

A couple of really cool things there Steve.

Very good mix of relics! Interesting boot pistil barrel! Wonder if it and the keg key belong to the same person?
