recent finds S.C Quartz/Hardaway Drill???

Nice early quartz finds Carolina. I'd have to agree with you on the drill, shallow side notches, concave base....heck of a find. You see much of that dark gray flint in your neck of the woods?

Actually that is the first flint drill i found and the only piece of flint i have seen while looking for arrowheads.
I would say that baby traveld a good ways. Maybe from Upper n.c or tenn I really dont know but i sure like it. Any ideas?

I'm not positive, though it looks like some Tn. lithics for sure. It also looks like some stuff from up here in Va. Hard to say, sweet piece though.

1st pic is vein quartz, 2nd is milky, 3rd is more of a crystal in a way and 4th looks like a black flint but has shades
of gray. Just thought I would put that in. There is alot of new peep on the site which I like, welcome all an maybe i can start posting again with a little free time on my hands.

That drill looks more the Taylor type that followed the Hardaways similar base structure and they had some serration as they were evolving into Palmer types. Just my opinion. Of course sometimes a Blade can get picked up and utilized by a later culture as well.
